My backtests and comparing runs

Every backtest you've run, grouped by strategy, with pinning, and two runs side by side with what changed between them.

My backtests is the first page of Backtest once you have run a test. Your results are saved to your account, so they show on any device you sign in on.

Your runs

Runs are grouped by strategy, newest first. Each row says which version of your rules it tested and its dates, such as "Version 2 · Jun – Sep", or "Version 2 · Practice" for the practice chart. Under it is the profit after fees, the number of trades and how big each trade was, such as "Risk: 1% of account". If you left fees out, it shows profit before fees and "Fees not entered".

Testing the same version on different dates gives separate rows. Tap a row to open its results.

+ New starts a new backtest. A strategy you haven't tested yet shows Backtest this.

Pinning

Tap the pin beside a run to keep it for good. Your last 50 runs for each strategy are kept as well; older unpinned runs are removed from the list. Tap the pin again to unpin.

Rename or delete

Rename under a strategy's name changes its name only. Your rules, its versions and its saved results stay as they are.

Delete under a strategy's name deletes the strategy with all of its saved results and replays. The bin beside a result deletes just that result, even a pinned one. Each asks you first, on the page, and you can choose Keep it. Your accounts and your trade history aren't changed.

If the Bot is set to trade the strategy on one of your accounts, it isn't deleted: the page names the account, so you can take the strategy off it first.

What you delete leaves My backtests straight away. We keep it until you close your account, so it is still in Export my data, marked with the date you deleted it.

Compare two runs

Choose Compare two runs under a strategy, or Compare on a result. Pick each run by its version and dates. You see:

  • what changed between the two versions, in the words of your rules, such as "Changed: candle 2's body at least half past the average";
  • the four headline figures side by side, with each run's trade size, and More numbers below;
  • when both ran on the same chart over the same dates, the trades only one of them took. Tap it to see those trades.

The two columns are shown the same way. Nothing marks one run as better; the reading is yours.
