Every figure on the payout card is yours. Wildflower cannot see your firm's payout system, so a payout shows here because you logged it.
How to log one
On the account page, open the payout card and add the amount and the date. It is saved to the record, and the meters update.
What it is measured against
The rules you entered on that account's Your firm's rules page:
- The balance that has to stay in the account
- The most you can take in one request
- Your share of the profit
- How often you can ask for a payout
Where Wildflower holds your firm's own published payout rules, two more come from there: the share of the profit one request may take, and the smallest payout the firm pays.
Nothing is filled in for you. A rule you have not entered stays blank, with a link to where you can enter it.
How one request is worked out
Everything is measured in profit: what the account has made above its starting balance. One request is the smallest of three amounts:
- Your firm's share of the profit
- The profit, less the balance you keep in the account after a payout
- Your firm's cap on one request
If that comes to less than your firm's smallest payout, no amount is shown. A line under the figure shows the working. It is arithmetic on the rules you entered, not a promise: your firm decides what it approves.
Your monthly goal
Set the amount you mean to take out this month at the top of Accounts, with Set a goal. The card shows it as a meter: the payouts you logged this month against the goal you set. Under it is your profit this month on real accounts, after fees, so you can see both. Practice accounts are not counted. This is on every plan.
What it will not do
It does not forecast. There is no "you could withdraw this on Friday" and no "expected by month-end" anywhere. The account card and the Accounts page show only what has happened: what you logged, and the goal you set.
What can go wrong
- The card is mostly blank. The rules have not been entered on the account's Your firm's rules page yet.
- No amount for one request. The account's size is not entered, so its profit can't be worked out. Add the size and it fills in.
- Payout window days. Where a payout window is counted, the days are counted in UTC time.
- A monthly goal will not save. Goals above $100,000,000 are refused, because a number that big is almost always an extra zero. The card says so and keeps what you typed, so the fix is one keystroke.
