The indicator condition gate

One gate that holds an entry back unless the indicator conditions you state are all true on closed bars.

Updated 12 October 2026 · 2 minute read

The indicator condition gate is the general-purpose way to say "only take this trade when my indicators agree".

What it does

It blocks an entry unless every condition you have set is true. Each condition is measured on the closed candles of a timeframe you name. The indicators it can read are:

  • a moving average
  • the relative strength index (RSI)
  • average true range (ATR), a measure of how far price moves in one candle, on average
  • a Bollinger band
  • a Donchian channel

Closed candles matter. A condition checked part-way through a candle can be true one second and false the next. A rule that changes its mind inside a candle is not much of a rule.

How to add one

  1. In the builder, add Indicator condition to the source you want it on.
  2. Fill in the condition: which indicator, which timeframe, and what has to be true.
  3. Save. The strategy stays a draft until the condition is complete.

You can add more than one. All of them must be true, so they stack.

You choose every number

You choose the indicator, the period and the level. The gate gives you an exact way to write down what you decided.

What can go wrong

Conditions on slow timeframes can stay true for days, then stay false for weeks. If entries dry up after you add one, check the Everything else tab of Activity. The refusal shows there as one of your entry filters holding the trade back.
