Reading the Reports page

What every figure on the Reports page means, which dates each one covers, and where each one is measured from, so you can read your own results clearly.

Reports is your closed trades, added up, over a window you choose. Every number on it comes from trades that have already finished. Nothing here is modelled and nothing is a forecast.

The window, and the account

Two controls decide what the page covers. The first is the dates. Use the date buttons at the top (7D, 30D, 90D, YTD, ALL), or the calendar button beside them to set exact start and end dates. Your own dates only apply once both are set, and the page says so while only one is. Each day runs from 5pm to 5pm Central time, the CME futures trading day.

The second is the account picker in the top bar. Every section follows both, including the Signal Log at the bottom.

The top of the page

The Edge Score ring has this sentence under it on the page. A 0 to 100 blend of four figures already on this page: profit factor, the deepest dip, the share of trades that won, and expectancy, with ten points added when the window ended up. The weights are Wildflower's own. It is arithmetic over your own closed trades, not a rating of your strategy, and it says nothing about what comes next.

Beside it: net profit and loss for the window, the share of trades that won with the counts behind it, profit factor with average R, and the deepest peak to trough dip with the recovery figure. The dots underneath are your last twenty trades in order.

The equity curve is your running total through the window, with the red shading showing how far below the previous high you were at each point.

Day by day

Daily activity is one square per day. Daily profit and loss is the same days as bars. Both are after fees, and both agree with the Monthly Performance calendar above them and with the green and red day counts in the by-account table.

Session cards appear when your trades carry a session tag. Hour of day is measured in London time.

The trade table

One row per closed trade. The P&L column is after fees. The R column is the trade's profit or loss before fees, divided by what was really at risk on the fill. So 2R means the trade made twice what it risked. If that risk was never recorded, R shows a dash rather than a guess. Tap or click a row for the full detail. On a phone the table becomes stacked cards with the same figures.

R means the same thing everywhere in this section: the table, the phone cards, the R Distribution chart and the detail panel. The R Distribution chart groups the same trades into R bands, so a 2.5R win lands in the 2R to 3R bar. Trades with no recorded risk are left out rather than put in a band.

What-If and the Signal Log

What-If runs your own closed trades again with one thing changed, such as the stop, and shows the difference. It does not tell you to change anything.

The Signal Log lists every setup Wildflower saw, whether it traded it, and why not when it did not. Its counts cover the whole window. The table shows the most recent hundred and says how many there were in total.

Where the numbers come from

Trades are stored before fees, with the fee saved beside them. Every figure here takes the fee off when it is shown. Fill prices from your broker always replace anything estimated from candles. Trades that Wildflower has set aside from statistics, after correcting how their fills were priced, are left out of every figure and every export.

What can go wrong

  • Nothing to report. Either no trade closed inside the window, or the account has not traded yet. Widen the range first.
  • A section missing. A section hides itself rather than draw a chart from too little. The by-account table needs two accounts. The rolling chart needs ten trades.
  • We could not load your reports. Nothing about your trading changed. Use Try again.

What's next

Profit and loss: gross, net, and fees.
