Why fields start empty

Trading fields start empty and you type your own numbers. What each field tells you, and how to find your own answer.

Updated 12 October 2026 · 1 minute read

Every trading field in Wildflower arrives empty, and nothing in the product fills one in for you.

  • No values ship with any block. There is no default risk, no default stop, no default hour.

You type your own numbers. Each field says what it does: what it reads, what it compares, and what happens at the edge.

To find your own answer, run a backtest over dates you choose, or try a range of values you type yourself.

A strategy with an empty required field stays a draft and cannot be switched on. The builder lists those fields as decisions still to make.
