Wildflower places orders on your broker account from your own computer, through a small program called the Wildflower agent. Your trading runs from your own computer, not from our servers. There is no cloud trading option.
What runs where
- Your computer runs the agent. The agent runs your strategy, watches the market, and places, manages and closes orders on your broker account. It needs to be on and online during the hours you want to trade. The price history your strategy works from comes through your own broker connection and is stored on your computer.
- The website is where you watch, plan and stay in control. Your dashboard, accounts, strategies, Activity, controls and reports all live here. Pause, Switch off and Stop everything all work from here.
- Your broker sign-in is stored on your computer, not with us. Windows locks it to your user account there. Where your broker sign-in lives explains what that means if you change computers.
- The demo account is coming. It will use practice money and place no real orders.
What that means day to day
If the computer running the agent is off, asleep or offline, no new trades open on that account. A trade already open keeps its stop and target, because those rest with your broker, not in the agent. The account page shows when the agent last checked in, and says so plainly if it has never connected.
Where your price data lives
Every price your strategy sees comes through your own broker connection and is stored on your computer. None of it is sent to us, and your price charts are drawn from your own computer.
Your trades, fills, orders, profit and loss and Activity do reach us. That is how your dashboard and reports work, and how we can help you.
Where your charts come from
Open Wildflower in a browser on the computer running the agent. The charts, including the chart in each Activity entry, are then drawn from that computer's own price history. Your browser asks the agent for them directly, and they never pass through us. There is nothing to switch on.
On a phone, tablet or second computer there is no price history to draw from, so there is no chart. Those pages still show your positions, trades, profit and loss and Activity, and say where the charts are.
The price history lives only on that computer, so it goes if the computer does.
What can go wrong
- The agent has never connected. You can switch the account on, but nothing trades until the agent is installed and running. The account page says so, and Set up your computer walks through the install.
- The computer went to sleep during a session. Open positions stay protected by their stop and target at your broker. Wake the computer and the agent picks up where it left off.
