Every side-by-side result has one button: Keep comparing these every week. Press it and Wildflower runs both versions again every Sunday over the latest stretch of prices, and adds the results to a log. It changes nothing about your strategy. It only reports.
What you choose
You choose two of your own versions, and how far back each weekly run looks: about a month, two months, or a quarter (4, 8 or 13 weeks). The picker starts on two months. Runs happen once a week.
Reading the log
The log grows downward, newest first, with two rows a week, one for each version. Each week is a fresh pair of backtests over the dates you chose, so the two versions are always measured on the same, current stretch.
There are no trend arrows, no streak counters, and no line saying which version has led for three weeks. The rows are the report, and what you make of them is up to you.
A new engine version splits the log
If the engine version (the version of Wildflower that runs the backtests) changes part-way through, the log splits at that point. The older weeks sit under their own heading. Old rows are never mixed in with new ones.
Stopping one
Press Stop comparing. It stops that week and every week after. The log keeps every row it has, and nothing is deleted. Stopping also frees a place, so you can start another.
What it needs
Each comparison runs two backtests a week for as long as it stays on. The Backtest and Bot plans each include up to 10 running at once. When you are close to that number, the screen says so once. If you reach it, stopping one makes room for another.
What can go wrong
If a version can no longer run, for example because a block it uses now needs a field it does not have, that week is skipped for that comparison. Your other comparisons carry on. Putting a strategy on an account, switching accounts on and trading are not affected by any of this.
